About Furano bus tours
The city of Furano has recently received large amounts of popularity from foreign tourists.
The city’s main attraction is its weather. Even in August, the hottest month of the year, temperatures
do not exceed 27 degrees Celsius. Large numbers of tourists are drawn to see the lavender fields that
bloom from early to the end of July.
The stand-alone in Furano’s autumn are the changing colors of the autumn leaves.
The Biei area in Furano has many spots to enjoy the autumn colors.
During autumn, the temperature peaks to around 21 degrees Celsius. Come October, the temperature begins
to cool down further so a warm jacket is needed for the cold.
Are you among the many who are not sure what to do around Furano in winter?
Winter is actually the very time when there are lots of activities to choose from. In the white snow,
you can fish for Japanese pond smelt, ride a snowmobile or AVT quad bike, or even soar in a hot air
balloon while taking in your fill of Furano.
Some of the cold still hangs around in spring, so as long as you have a jersey or coat you will be fine
for sightseeing.
While being strongly associated with lavender fields, spring brings to Furano brightly colored blooming
flowers that create yet a different kind of scenery to summer. Again, other activities unavailable in
winter, such as river rafting and outdoor camping can be enjoyed.
The city of Furano, where all four seasons can be enjoyed, is 2 1/2 hours from inner Sapporo City. From
Furano the famous sights in Biei can be reached in 40 minutes.
Again the easy access to the mysterious blue pond (Aoiike) and Japan’s most interactive zoo; Asayama
Zoo, is just another reason Furano is so popular all year around.
